Linda Settles, M.A. Counselor/Author

Linda Settles, M.A., is a candidate for her doctorate in Counseling. Linda’s newest work, Redeeming Our Treasures: Finding Joy in the Shadows of an Abusive Past, is set to be released in April 2009. Her passion to share Christ’s love prepared her to start Beyond Abuse Ministry.

“I started beyond-abuse.org because a wanted a public forum to write about abuse with all its many ramifications. I wanted my poetry to flow through its pages and to give a voice to others who want to share their hearts and their hurts with the rest of us. I wanted to highlight the need of children who have experienced losses so that others can carry them in their hearts and hold them in their prayers. I wanted to make the public aware that we are here-survivors, everyday heros who refuse to get stuck in the victim role. I also want to establish a forum for courteous (though passionate) discussion about the issues that still affect us all–laws, attitudes, atrocities that still exist in our societal system and how we can make a difference.”
